Coastal Conservation Association of Florida (CCA) will host its inaugural Day on the Hill at the Capitol building courtyard during Florida’s Legislative Session on March 20, 2014. CCA Florida is a statewide, non‐profit marine organization working to protect the state's marine resources and the interests of saltwater anglers. Comprised of 31 local chapters from Pensacola to the Keys, we support strong, resource‐based law enforcement, access to the resource for recreational fishing, and strong, fairly‐balanced regulations to protect state and federal fish stocks. CCA Florida is part of the Coastal Conservation Association a National organization with 100,000 members.

CCA Florida will highlight our 30 year legacy in Florida, the economic importance of Florida’s recreational fishing industry and our leadership working with fisheries managers like the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commission and National Marine Fisheries Service. “We want Florida’s leadership in Tallahassee to appreciate the leading role of saltwater fisheries in Florida’s economy and cultural history. CCA represents thousands of recreational fishermen and our voice is critical to the future of Florida’s fisheries.” said Jim Williams, CCA Past Chairman. CCA has participated in every important national fisheries debate since 1984 and CCA Florida has helped shape our state fishery laws since 1985.

On March 20th CCA will display boats, maps and photography of some of the fishing opportunities to be found in Florida, the work that best conserves our fisheries along with historical information and background on the organization. We encourage everyone to come out to the Capital courtyard and join us as we celebrate “Florida: The Fishing Capital of the World”!
